Background:

Women’s History Month has taken place in March of every year since 1987. It celebrates the history and contributions of women and recognizes their fight for equality.

Women’s History Month 2022:

Join the Women’s Resource Center in celebrating Women’s History Month. This month, let’s elevate women on campus and celebrate their contributions to DSU’s legacy. Join us in recognizing outstanding women at DSU as part of this month’s celebration.

Netflix star Jan Broberg will share her harrowing experience. Abducted in Plain Sight is the twisting, turning, stranger-than-fiction true story of the Brobergs, a naive, church-going Idaho family that fell under the spell of a sociopathic neighbor with designs on their twelve-year-old daughter.

This will be a 45 min speaking engagement with a 15 min Q&A  after

Mar 09-29, 2022 Service Project

The Women and Family Academic Engagement club (WFA) and the Women’s Resource Center are sponsoring a service project in honor of Women’s History Month. The goal of this project is to collect items not normally donated to shelters. These items will benefit survivors in shelters.

Requested donations:

  • beauty products (face cream. cleanser, etc.)
  • grooming supplies (tweezers, hand care, feet care, nail clippers, luffas, makeup sponges, etc.)
  • full-size body lotion
  • full-size body wash (no bar soap)
  • sunscreen
  • quality, full-size shampoo & conditioner
  • full-size bath towels
  • hairstyling supplies for all different hair types (full-size mousse, gel, hairspray, dry shampoo, etc.)
  • hair brushes and combs
  • hair accessories (ties, barrettes, clips, etc.)
  • recreation passes to bowling, movies, mini golf, etc.
  • hair dryers
  • TracFone minute cards

Items can be donated at the drop boxes located in the browning 2nd floor, student affairs in the Gardner, Hazy advising, and HCC advising. Items can also be brought to the Women’s Resource Center or at any of the events.
